Writing technique - Using the Magic of 3

This week in room 10 we have been learning to use the magic of 3 in our narrative writing.

The magic of 3 is describing what we see, what we hear and what we feel before we finally reveal our mysterious object or character.

Here are some examples from our class.

In the blink of an eye, something crashed into my window.  It was black and pink with bright red feathers and sharp dirty yellow claws.  I went to investigate but when I crept to the window, nothing was there.
A moment later, I heard a voice, "Here I come.  I'm right behind you".  I was crept out!
Suddenly I felt something sharp poking my back.  I felt was being watched by zillions of eyes.
When I went under my blanket I saw the black and pink bright red feathered thing.  It was my toy shark parrot.

It was dark and I was in my bed.  Something was going on in the kitchen.  It was a terrible mess when I looked in the kitchen.  When I looked in the fridge, it was empty and all the food was already eaten.
Suddenly I heard a little sound coming from the fireplace.  Then I felt something fluffy  and cuddly touch my feet.
A moment later I looked to see what it was.  It was like I was flying in the clouds and my face had a big smile.  It was a hungry cat that didn't have a family.

I looked out the window when all of a sudden, I saw a flash of light.  It was like lightning zooming past my window.
A moment later, I tried to go back to sleep but I heard something banging in the shed.  My heart was pumping and I was sweating.  I never went outside.

Bang!  Crash! Crash!  I heard a big loud noise coming from my garage and I saw a big black shadow. My mouth dropped open.  I started to sweat and my heart was pounding.  I turned around and it disappeared.
A while later, I heard a fluttering noise.  Then the fluttering noise was gone.  When I came back to the garage there was a pile of feathers and feathers everywhere.  I looked all around the garage but I couldn't see anything.  I thought to myself that maybe it's probably frightened too.
A moment later, I felt something very soft on  one of my feet.  I shivered then I looked down.  It was an injured bird.

Bang!  A loud noise came from by over the other side of the forest.

Then I saw a little silver thing shoot past my face.
"Arrr!"  I felt a strong wind and something hard like a rock hit the back of my leg.
  "What is happening?"
Just then I heard a popping noise.  I closed my eyes for a second and when I opened them, all the flowers were gone.
When I looked around the corner, flowers were on the ground.  So I followed the trail of flowers until I saw what had been taking the flowers.  It was my sister making daisy chains with all the flowers.
